External Wall Installation (EWI)

In 2013 NIHE undertook a pilot scheme for EWI. A total of three homes participated in the pilot. The average cost per dwelling was £12,000 which included doors, fascia and barge boards, restoration of pipes, guttering, loft insulation, new energy efficient ‘A’ rated windows and external insulation.

PK Murphy were delighted to secure a £5 million contract from NIHE with two EWI contracts. The project covered a total of 188 dwellings: Ballysillan phase 1

PK Murphy Construction were viable in lot 2, Belfast Region 1. This project covers a total of 188 dwellings: Ballysillan phase 1; 111 dwellings and Ballysillan phase 2; 77 dwellings. The scope of works required at each property varied, with minimum work of external wall insulation (EWI), to the full scope of works to include EWI, Internal Wall Insulation (IWI), doors, windows, loft insulation, roofs, airtightness, and ventilation.

All dwellings were assessed to ensure they comply with current regulations.

We have since secured a further two contracts.
